Inside, there are some good contemporary exhibits, but most people come here for the permanent collection, which includes works by Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt (about whom more later), including The Kiss (43-1-795-57-134). Built as the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736) and now a museum, it comprises two palaces (Upper and Lower Belvedere) set in a series of beautifully manicured Baroque gardens that make for a lovely stroll in the spring and fall.
